Have you noticed today’s Google page design?

GOOGLE Juan Gris

This is in honor of Juan Gris. According to Wikipedia:

José Victoriano (Carmelo Carlos) González-Pérez (23 March 1887 – 11 May 1927), better known as Juan Gris, was a Spanish painter and sculptor who lived and worked in France most of his life. His works, which are closely connected to the emergence of an innovative artistic genre—Cubism—are among the movement’s most distinctive.

Happy 125th birth anniversary, Juan Gris!

I am one of the netizens who try to find and compile inspirations through Pinterest. I have created different boards to organize my finds – Home Organization, Quotes, Funny, Food Art, Polymer Clay and many others. One board which is not filled up with images yet but very special to me is named My Favorite Things. And surely, it contains some really cool, colorful and elegant images of anything and everything in the web. Here’s one that I pinned there:

guitar

I do not know what type of guitar this is because for me, they all look the same! Hahaha! Maybe I should ask my youngest brother because among us, my brothers and me, he is the one who is musically-inclined. He owns some guitars and many years ago, I broke his Moog when I accidentally sat on it. Aaargh. It was a bad night, alright but I did not hear him castigate me. Hahaha! Anyway, this guitar reminds me of him too. He likes to alter his things and make them more personal and no doubt, he can do this on his guitars too since I saw him customizing his own netbook. That, for the life of me, I can never ever do.

‘Tis a season to be jolly. Also, to eat, drink and be merry. But for some of us in our group of bloggers/ digital scrapbookers, it is also a season to do something special not only for our family but for ourselves. We decided to go for a project called December Daily. The rule is pretty simple, record your 31 days of December either thru photos or just words or both. It does not matter what camera you use. Some would prefer the high and mighty DSLR while others would settle for their point-and-shoot cameras and even the reliable camera of their iphone 4s 16gb units. Others prefer creating their layouts daily. On the other hand, there are those (like me) who prefer to journal and take photos and do the layout later (or next month) when the inspiration strikes.

There is no need to worry and fuss over the design or theme, that’s what I am trying to tell some friends who are fretting over the project. December Daily is meant to be fun and not a burden. I already have templates and kind of pages in mind though I still lack a digital scrapbooking kit. I intend to create really simple layouts using traditional Christmas colors like red, green and gold. With those things in mind, I can easily narrow down my kit choices in case I want to shop or just peruse through my old collection.

The point is, I’ve recorded our family’s December 2011. All it’s ups and downs. In the coming years, we can go through the album and see how blessed we are in this very special month when we celebrate Jesus’ birthday. Here’s my photo book when I first did this project:

One of the things that has been preoccupying my mind since we made the big move is what to do to earn a living aside from an online job. Things are not looking up in the blogging scene these days so another job is a must. A fellow blogger has accepted a Reservations Clerk Jobs that she found online and she suggested that I also try searching for a new work on the WWW too. Well, I do not think I am ready for another full-time job yet but I am looking into something that is new and requires a whole lot of creativity to see if “creating” is my line. Yeah, I am that late. Hahaha!

Anyway, speaking of creativity, this one caught my fancy:

A multi-tasker. That’s me! I was blogging, checking my Facebook account and email every now and then plus helping a friend decide on which online store offers the best deal when it comes to micrometers when an email arrived in my inbox. It is a subscription to a newsletter and I just have to share! I know that this should be posted on my other blog that I just can’t resist because it’s all about food  and art too! Take a look at this doodle pack made by Kate Hadfield:Kate Hadfield Al Fresco
