Early this month, we celebrated my daughter’s birthday with some treats for the celebrant and a dinner at Italliani’s in Marquee Mall. Being creatures of habit, we usually dine at time-tested places. And we do love meat and noodles so we frequent places that offer the best meat and noodle dishes. Italian cuisine is somewhat foreign but since it is a special day, I insisted that we try something new. I solicited advice from a trusted friend, Kaje and she recommended Italliani’s. I placed our orders and requested for a special surprise for the birthday girl.

The birthday girl had kiddie spaghetti and create your own pizza. Nothing fancy and she did not really pay attention to her food as she was busy reading her new books. On a regular day, she would have asked us to let her play at the playground. Adjacent to Italliani’s location is the spacious Marquee Park. There is a grassy side where kids and adults can run around and walk up and down some cemented slopes. Or have an outdoor picnic. At the other side is a water fountain where it is really nice to just stand or sit and admire the sight of changing lights and water. Just add some swings and the place is perfect for hanging out!

Anyway, the husband and I ordered the following:

Seafood Cioppino. This is superb! Since the husband is your meatball-spaghetti-kind-of-guy, I am always cautious when ordering different pasta dishes. But this one, he certainly liked. Really, really good!
Roast Pork Ribs. Pork is a staple whenever we dine out. This one is really good. Soft and tasty and delicious!And for dessert, Tartufo. We were too full when this was served since we had pasta and rice and meat. Aside from that I had a chocolate Kahlua drink. But the cake is very decadent that we had to force ourselves to finish it! It is kinda pricey for a slice of cake but it is super worth it.

The staff brought in the cake along with a scoop of ice cream with a song number for the birthday girl. They sung for her the Happy Birthday song in English and Italian and that made her really happy that night.

It was a memorable dining experience, a nice treat for us. The staff are really nice and courteous. A free WIFI connection was also available but who had time to go online? But yes, I want to go back for that song number on MY birthday. Hahaha!
