Aside from work and pleasure, the Internet has let me win some really cool and free stuff online. I have been lucky in some online contests and raffles I’ve joined in the past. I won some stuff given out in blog contests and on Facebook too. There were some cash, a Kate Spade cosmetic bag, cosmetics, books and others. Recently, I won a pair of earrings from Purple Luggage on Facebook. I just left a comment on her post on Facebook and surprisingly, my name was one of those she picked as winners! I will post about the said earrings soon.

So I thank you, WWW for all the nice things you provide. You certainly make life better!

There are many devices out there that have made our lives more convenient and easy. One of the common gadgets are handheld devices like mobile phones, iPad/ iPod and other tablets plus other handheld gaming gadgets. These devices are very helpful for access on anything since it has wifi/ 3G connectivity. One can easily check the weather, find a recipe or a good restaurant through Google, read or send emails, or even play in online casinos for entertainment. One can even download applications for varied uses.

Personally, I find it convenient to own an iPod Touch which I generally use to listen to music and podcasts during long trips. It is also a good device to read my ebooks while waiting for my turn in long lines. Moreover, I use it to access the Net whenever I do not have my netbook with me or when I’ve finally turned off the laptop off but still need to check something online, like before bedtime or upon waking up. With the use of some free applications, I can already find a meaning of a word, know the weather forecast during the week and even read my Bible. It sure is a good gadget too, to keep my daughter pre-occupied during our long travels whenever she gets bored with her books. On the other hand, the husband uses his iTouch primarily to play his online games. Aside from reading the newspaper and watching sports on TV, playing his online games on his iTouch is one of his hobbies. He enjoys his games so much and prefers playing during our quiet times together. Most often he reaches for his iPod whenever I am busy with checking my emails. My daughter usually plays his games too or watches him play his games. They both prefer complex kind of games while I am left with arcade-type.

Handheld gadgets are surely useful whether for business executives or your regular gamer of online casinos. These gadgets have already found their way in our daily lives. They are not considered luxuries anymore as they have made our lives more convenient whether at work or at play.

I can still remember those days when we seek help from the library when we need to know about a particular topic or subject. My classmates and I took turns in finding answers from the heavy encyclopedias. Lucky are those who had personal copies of volumes of encyclopedias at home, they did not have to fall in line or even stay in school a little bit longer for research.

These days, encyclopedias have become obsolete. Students and non-students alike, seek answers and find relevant information via the Internet.  Search engines like Google, Bing, Yahoo and Ask are the most visited sites based on the hits that they receive daily. Thus, more and more software and applications these days have developed their own toolbars with the help of Zugo. With Zugo, you are given full control on how your toolbar looks like. You can even add Facebook and email notifications.  Aside from that, their products are very easy to remove that even my daughter who is in grade school can uninstall it without a fuss. Most importantly, Zugo’s toolbars are free of malware and suspicious viruses which can infect and seriously damage your computer system, thus, it is very safe to install and use.

Automated phone calling systems allows you to “blast” phone calls to hundreds of people in the least time possible. Instead of making the calls yourself or via live representative, your messages are pre-recorded and played when the other line picks up. This particular technology has been taken advantaged by huge companies who use automated phone calling systems. While email and direct mail can also be utilized for faster information dissemination, there are still people who either do not have their own email addresses or do not check their email regularly. Obviously, direct mail can also be lost or left to rot in mailboxes when the recipient is out of town or somewhere else.

Even small businesses who are just starting up with their business can take advantage of this new technology. If you are running your own small, home-based company and you want to advertise your products via phone then an automated phone calling system can do you wonders. Instead of taking the entire day making two hundred phone calls, you can use that time to focus on different aspects of your company that requires more attention. Automated phone calling systems are also available on a “need only” basis so you don’t have to pay for the automated services, if you don’t have to use for it. This can bring your company bigger profits as compared to buying your own automated phone calling system.

Before you sign up with any automated phone calling system providers, you need to first check their rates and packages. Some companies charge per minute which means that if your call took only five seconds, you’d still have to pay for the entire minute one minute. While these companies offer a lower rate, imagine the unused seconds that you lose. When accumulated, they can cost up to hundreds of dollars and these are unused, yet you’re still paying for them. Whenever possible, search for companies that will charge you per second, if you feel that your call would not last more than a minute.

It would also be wise to subscribe to automated phone calling service providers who have a 24/7 live support. This is, of course, for your security. If in any case you are not able to send or blast your messages, at least you have a live representative who can assist you with your concerns.
